Remember that in the photo? As the caption tells, "If you had one of these, your childhood was legendary."
Well it might be true. I remember when we were children, our neighbor with this kind of gadget about 15 years ago was just everyone's target to befriend - the reason: to have a chance to play with this obsolete gaming tool called Family Computer.
I remember, this gaming gadget 15 years ago requires a television screen to display the graphics. If you are Pinoy, I'm sure you are aware about the bala, a casette tape-like thing that loads a certain game.
Some of the most common games being played here are Contra, Super Mario and Battle City.
Indeed, time is going fast that this type of gaming tool has now been replaced by digital gadgets only using your finger to operate them. Nowadays, just touch the screen and there you have it!
But let us remember that this type of gadget was everyone's dream those times and once you acquire it, you were actually a legendary as the caption tells.

In less than a month, three suspected couries of an African Drug Syndicate was nabbed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport with shabu in their luggage and the latest is a 6-month pregnant woman from Guinea, Aisha Camara, 28, carrying 2.7 kilos of Shabu, according to customs collector, Teresita Roque.
The woman arrived from Abu Dhabi on board the Etihad Airways. The Bureau of Immigration’s Travel Control and Enforcement Unit (TCEU) denied the entry of the woman being unable to explain her purpose in coming to Manila.
The TCEU said Camara has no sponsor and does not know anyone in the Philippines. She said she came to the Philippines to seek medical attention for her swollen feet and to know her baby’s gender, but could not present any medical appointment and does not know any hospital in the country, the TCEU said.
Since there was no available seat on the next flight back to Abu Dhabi, the TCEU brought Camara to the Sampaguita lounge to wait for the next available flight.
On Monday night, Camara said she was bleeding and needed to get to a hospital. She was brought to the NAIA clinic, which recommended that she be brought to a hospital.
TCEU personnel suggested that Camara’s luggage go through Customs examination before she is allowed to leave the airport.
The shabu, with a street value of around P17 million, was found sandwiched between layers of thin plastic as wide as the luggage bottom, made to appear like the suitcase’s lining.
Camara denied knowing about the shabu, saying a man at the Guinea airport, knowing that she is pregnant, offered to check in her luggage and clear her passport at the check-in counter.
Airport officials noted similarities in the manner the shabu was hidden in Camara’s luggage to two alleged couriers arrested at NAIA recently.
Last Feb. 27, Kenyan Lina Aching Noah was caught bringing in 9.3 kilos of shabu with an estimated street value of P45 million.
On March 3, Ugandan Josephine Balikuddembe, 54, was caught with 4.5 kilos of shabu, valued at P22.5 million. She came from Mali, then went to Dubai before coming to Manila.– With Reinir Padua - By Rudy Santos (Philstar News Service, www.philstar.com)

The graduating class of the Philippine Military Academy this year [2012] is Tom Puertollano, son of a carpenter from Batangas who offered his success to the memory of his late mother who passed away last August due to pancreatic cancer.
Puertollano received 11 awards including the first ever Spanish Armed Forces Award and he plans to serve the Philippine Army after graduation.
Success is really sweet if there is an inspiration and for Puertollano who wants to have a better future in the absence of his mother with the help of his carpenter father, he can really soar high and the people who have lived a simple life can really enjoy sweeter success than those who already have more fortune in life. Congratulations to Puertollano.
I posted a photo in Facebook and someone told me that "Planking" is a devil worship. I was shocked at first, because as a lover and a servant of my Saviour Jesus Christ, I really thought that what I did made me committed such a great sin. I researched about it and a message is circulating at the social networking sites that "Planking" is a demonic exercise and/or worshiping the devil.
I was actually really sorry for God that what I did was wrong. But I suddenly thought of researching about it and with this, I discovered that "planking" is very controversial. Most comments from people to sites don't believe about the rumor, hence rumor, and the source of that news can not be identified, whether the person who started spreading it or even the historical correlation of planking vs. devil worship.
Anyway, to start this discussion, let us start by understanding some basic and core concepts:
According to the circulating message, Flanking or Planking (resting exercise) is an old Eastern Religious practice or demonic exercise that leads to death to many people in the past, they are now beginning to revive this demonic practice and most victim are young people - Don't do that and please don't be an example of this demonic practice! - That is the content of the rumor.
However to some contexts, Planking comes from the word "Plank", it means a piece of lumber cut thicker than a board. The Latin word for Plank is Tabula, Tabula is defined as: board, gaming board, painted panel.
To some minds, planking has lead to death of many people so it is correlated to "evil." As a Christian, who grew at the Sunday School of our church at the Assemblies of God Church in our city, a worship song leader (I sing for God), a former dancer (I used to dance for God when I was a kid), a youth leader (I see to it that I must become a good model to every young people) and a hardcore follower of Christ, this is my point of view and I made this as objective as I can.
Yes, it might be true, planking has lead to death of some correlating it to devil worship but I just want to express my idea about this. As I said, I am a hardcore follower of Jesus Christ!
Planking is really deadly if you won't do it with caution because in fact, the one reason of doing planking is to do it a risky as possible. It is just an internet game and it just measures how creative are you in appearing to photos in planking position.
I have to say that in everything that we do, if we do not execute it in caution, it could lead to death. But the death toll isn't that too significant to be compared for people who also died jumping from a cliff to river, skate boarding (for the extreme injuries), motorbike and car racing and the like. They are all activities linked to risks not to mention sky diving, scuba diving, "eating" a fire, riding on a roller coaster and I don't think doing such risky thing is a devil worship. There is always a risk everywhere that could lead to circumstances we don't want to happen.
So, I think it should not be correlated to devil worship because it depends upon your intention. Me, I felt so guilty when I learned about the news but when I did planking, I did it just for fun and just to showcase the beautiful scenery with an unusual position so I really had to research about it to alleviate the fear of committing such act.
To the source of this rumor, thank you for warning us about this. But I guess, in my humble opinion, stealing 25 centavos from your mother's pocket makes you worship the devil even more than doing planking with an intention of only for fun.
Personally, right before the Planking became so popular, I have already adapted "Planking" as my position when I pray to God before sleep. I am on a prone position while praying because it just always reminds me that I need to be humble before God and instead of kneeling down, I am down to a prone position (planking) and humbly put myself at the Feet of my God recognizing that I only deserve to be at His feet being the Righteous God and me as a sinner.
So to sum it up, it depends on your intention, as of me, my intention to plank is to pray to God (as I said, I have done it just before planking became popular) and for photography. I just want to leave a simple note, why people doesn't focus to suppress pornography as an act of devil worship than planking? Well, I guess, pornography has many fans - even Christians can hardly resist it. It is even more an evil act than just a simple planking with an intention for photography. But why planking is even more controversial than pornography? Just a last note, before doing anything, ask your self, what is my intention - in planking, in watching porn, in jumping, in crying, in saying bad words, in helping other people, in preaching the Gospel and name them all. I think it is "we" ourselves can answer if we are really worshiping the devil or not - it is your intention. If you want to worship the devil standing, you can still do that without planking but please don't ever do that. I am just siting an example.
As for me, I did it to pray to God (I reiterate) right before planking became popular. So, I think it is so unfair for "us" who had the "right" intention to regard planking as devil worship. Intention of doing really matters.
Lastly, when I sleep, I do "Planking" to my bed the whole night! Now tell me, is planking an evil worship? I will answer my own question, It depends in your intention. You, what is your intention? Would you share them?

At the news, it tells that the image of the Virgin Mary on a Roman Catholic point of view is appearing at the walls of the Laoag Sinking bell tower.
This image as claimed by many has taken the attention of many people. Some has even regarded it as miraculous. But to some, they claim that the image has been there a long time, it is just today that it has gained public exposure and just a product of a wide imagination.
Many devotees have gone to the area expressing their faith and devotion.
Well, I have nothing against any religion but I think human mind is very powerful. If we look at things, we can create as many images as we can if you'll going to use your imagination.
And the funny thing here is that, why the people only express their devotion when there are news like this? I think people are just "plastic."
They can still be a good person without images like this, why only now that they have to show their faith? The real character of a person is seen when they are in a normal setting. So for the people who claim that this is true, be true to yourself, are you reading your bible? Are you praying daily? Are you helping people? Aren't you saying bad words? Grow up! People such as these are just becoming plastic before mama Mary as others may call it.
As per observation, our mind is very powerful and creative, aside from mama mary, I can also create other images there such as Maria Clara, a crying woman, girl sipping a straw in a drinks, an old woman with tabaco and believe it or not, I can also see an image of Jesus Christ facing the left. Try to look at it and make as many imagination as you can.
So don't worship any image, if might be a mistake. The one you are looking at as mama Mary could look like a white lady to others. So it is just a matter of imagination.
