Twitter on Monday (March 12, 2012) announced that it has already acquired the blogging platform Posterous. Posterous is a platform that allows bloggers to post stories using mobile phones.
"This team has built an innovative product that makes sharing across the Web and mobile devices simple, a goal we share," San Francisco-based Twitter said in a blog post.

Posterous was launched in 2008 with the emphasis on publishing posts, videos and photos on the web using smartphones.
This is indeed a big year for twitter as it continues to prove it's dominance in micro-blogging. Let us watch out how this acquisition will benefit twitter.
