The Philippines garnered 7 nominations from the 16th Asian Television Awards and one nominee each from ABS-CBN and TV5 won a trophy.
ABS-CBN's The Bottomline with Boy Abunda, a weekly show, took home the Best Talk Show defeating contenders from Malaysia (Bola @ Mamak), India (The Euthanasia Debate), Singapore (It's a Small World Too), Hong Kong (CNN's Talk Asia) and another from India (Being Gay: The Parents from India).
Further, TV5 won the technical award for Best Theme Song courtesy of Boy Christopher Ramos at Ito ang Buhay Ko for the drama anthology Star Confessions. TV 5 also bestes 3 nominees from Malaysia and 1 from Singapore.
