JC De Vera, TV5 Kapatid Network's prime actor celebrated his birthday with chicken pox. He is supposed to celebrate his birthday outside but given this situation, he just celebrated his birthday at home.
For the mean time, JC de Vera will not be able to report in the taping of his TV drama series Valiente. In connection to this, Tirso Cruz III also asked permission from his current TV Network home ABS-CBN to have a guesting in Valiente for about 4 weeks. Tirso Cruz III is one of the original casts of the show.
TV5, the third largest broadcasting network in the Philippines is proving that it can soar high. For the year 2011, TV5 hits a revenue of 1.68 billion pesos which is more then doubled compared to their 2010 revenue of only 739 million pesos.
Ray C. Espinosa, the president of TV5 said, "This year our revenue target is over P4 billion and we are confident of hitting that just as we hit our target revenue in 2011."
He further said that TV5's income last 2009 was only P123 million. TV5 expects to hit a revenue of 4 billion pesos this year.
The network is setting aside P3 billion in capital expenditures, or a billion pesos more than last year's spending plan. "This is our programmed capex for the year as we are set to transfer to our new office by middle of this year," Espinosa said, adding that another P4.5 billion is allotted for the next two years.
The Philippines garnered 7 nominations from the 16th Asian Television Awards and one nominee each from ABS-CBN and TV5 won a trophy.
ABS-CBN's The Bottomline with Boy Abunda, a weekly show, took home the Best Talk Show defeating contenders from Malaysia (Bola @ Mamak), India (The Euthanasia Debate), Singapore (It's a Small World Too), Hong Kong (CNN's Talk Asia) and another from India (Being Gay: The Parents from India).
Further, TV5 won the technical award for Best Theme Song courtesy of Boy Christopher Ramos at Ito ang Buhay Ko for the drama anthology Star Confessions. TV 5 also bestes 3 nominees from Malaysia and 1 from Singapore.

Charice is going to do a Christmas Musical show at the Kapatid Network or TV5 this Sunday, December 11, 2011 at 10:00 pm.
Remember that the previous Valentines Day, Charice performed in GMA Network. Anyway, because of the popularity of our very own singing sensation worldwide, I think Charice is now a universal artist and network war isn't her kind of stuff. She is a pride of the country indeed and everywhere she goes, it is in the long run a pride for us.
I think ABS-CBN being her root and the start of her stardom shouldn't be a mere reason fer her to stay in that station.
Being an international artist, her exposure to different kinds of network should not be an issue. Well, good luck to her show in TV5 and best wishes.
