Kirby Asunto, a Filipina-American teener sings the national anthem of the Philippines, Lupang Hinirang.
Asunto, 14, sang the national anthem of the Philippines in front of the boxing crowd at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Asunto wore a red terno designed by Hollywood-based Filipino fashion designer Oliver Tolentino.
The Filipino boxing champion personally chose the New Jersey-based teenager to be part of his showdown with Bradley, after hearing Asunto perform at a Mass before Pacquiao’s November 2011 match with Juan Manuel Marquez. She also performed in his after-fight concert, following his controversial win over the Mexican.
Meanwhile, the Filipina-Mexican American Idol runner-up sang the national anthem of the United States in full blow that made fans shout in glee.
